Tips for the perfect beach party

Picking a venue for your upcoming birthday celebrations can be tricky, but once you’ve settled on somewhere, the planning can begin. When it comes to fun in the sun, beach birthday parties are such a great idea, especially for those who love the outdoors and want to be entertained outdoors.

Ramsgate Cottage and its surrounds is a place that has something for every member of your family, including  swimming to playing volleyball or taking your dogs onto the sand for some extra fun! Plus, it’s the perfect self-catering choice.

Top tips for throwing the perfect birthday bash on the beach

1. Get a beach tent

This may seem a little extreme at first, but it will become your best beach investment. It creates a shady spot to lay down blankets or set up the food station, where people and meals won’t be melting in the sun. It’s also a great option if the kids have had enough sun, but don’t want to leave the party just yet. Put a splash pool under the tent and let them keep playing in the shade.

2. Invest in a wagon or two

Especially those with the all-terrain wheels that are able to deal with the sand. It can be difficult to manage babies or toddlers over the sand, as well as carry bags of food and towels. A wagon means you can throw a bag or two over your shoulders and also pull along all your beach necessities too.

3. Make sure you have snacks prepared

If you’re wanting to provide the food and drinks for everyone at the party, make sure you’ve thought of that before heading out, especially if you’re catering for children.. It’s also a great idea to individually package little party packs for each person, so sandy hands aren’t put into one big bag of chips, ruining them for everyone else.

4. Take a cooler box

Your items might start off nice and cool, but this will change very quickly in warm weather. Have individual bottles of things ready for people to grab for themselves, and keep food items like chocolate and cheese in the cooler box until they’re needed. An extra drinks tip? Avoid drink boxes and rather go for drink pouches. The boxes aren’t able to withstand the melted water in the cooler box, and the weight of other things can misshape them too.

5. Keep your electronics safe

Never underestimate the power of a Ziploc bag to keep your keys, cash and phones dry and safe! This also makes everything easy to access when you’re wanting to buy something or are ready to leave for the day.

6. Have a little first aid kit ready

Scrapes and bruises can happen easily when kids (and adults!) are messing around on the beach. Have some plasters, a disinfectant spray and a few other important items ready for any emergencies.

If you want to add some activities to the day too, then take a look at these beach-perfect activities.
